The IP44 rating makes this fitting suitable for bathroom zone 2 (areas within 0.6m of a bath or shower, or above basins) without any additional requirements. It is also suitable for zone 1 (directly above baths and showers) when protected by a 30mA RCD. It is not suitable for zone 0 (inside a bath or shower enclosure).
