Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a close-coupled and back-to-wall toilet?
A close-coupled toilet has the cistern sitting directly on top of the pan, making it a self-contained unit. A back-to-wall toilet has the pan pushed flush against the wall, with the cistern concealed inside a furniture unit or within the wall itself, giving a cleaner, more streamlined appearance.
Do I need a special frame for a wall-hung toilet?
Yes — wall-hung toilets require a concealed cistern frame to be installed within or against the wall. The frame supports the weight of the toilet and houses the cistern. You'll also need a flush plate to operate the cistern. We sell complete wall-hung packs that include the pan, frame, and flush plate.
What does rimless mean?
A rimless toilet has no inner rim around the bowl, eliminating the hidden areas where bacteria and limescale can build up. The flush is designed to wash the entire bowl surface, making rimless toilets significantly more hygienic and easier to clean than traditional rimmed designs.
Can I order if the item shows as out of stock?
Yes — most of our toilets can be ordered even when showing as out of stock, and we'll fulfil your order as soon as stock is available. If you need a specific delivery timeframe, please contact us at customerservice@bubblegumbathrooms.co.uk before ordering.
