What is a cold start valve?
A cold start valve defaults to cold water when the tap handle is in the central (straight up) position. Hot water is only delivered when you deliberately move the handle to the left. This prevents unnecessary energy use during quick hand washes — reducing both energy consumption and heating costs compared to a traditional mixer tap.
What is the flow rate of this tap?
The Levarto tall basin mixer has a flow rate of 5 litres per minute via the integrated water-saving tiltable aerator — significantly lower than a standard tap (typically 8–12L/min), reducing water consumption without noticeably affecting the washing experience. The tiltable aerator also allows you to adjust the direction of water flow to reduce splashing.
What is the minimum water pressure required?
