How do I know if I need a tall or standard basin mixer?
If your basin is a countertop or vessel basin (sitting on top of the worktop or vanity unit), you need a tall tap. If your basin is a standard inset basin (set into the worktop, wall-hung, or on a pedestal), you need a standard-height tap — see the Abode Levarto Standard Basin Mixer. What is a cold start valve?
A cold start valve defaults to cold water when the tap handle is in the central (straight up) position. Hot water is only delivered when you deliberately move the handle to the left. This prevents unnecessary energy use during quick hand washes — reducing both energy consumption and heating costs compared to a traditional mixer tap.
What is the flow rate of this tap?
The Levarto tall basin mixer has a flow rate of 5 litres per minute via the integrated water-saving tiltable aerator — significantly lower than a standard tap (typically 8–12L/min), reducing water consumption without noticeably affecting the washing experience. The tiltable aerator also allows you to adjust the direction of water flow to reduce splashing.
What is the minimum water pressure required?
The Levarto tall basin mixer operates from a minimum of 0.4 bar, making it suitable for gravity-fed systems, low-pressure supplies, and most UK water systems including combi boilers and mains pressure.
