What is an exposed retainer waste?
An exposed retainer waste sits visibly beneath the bath rather than being concealed within the bath structure. The retainer mechanism holds the plug in place and releases it when lifted. This style is traditional and well-suited to roll top and freestanding baths where the underside of the bath is on show.
Why do I need a shallow seal trap for a roll top bath?
Roll top and freestanding baths often have limited clearance between the base of the bath and the floor. A shallow seal trap has a reduced seal depth, allowing it to fit in spaces where a standard 75mm seal trap would not. It still maintains an effective water seal to prevent drain odours.
Do I need the standpipes instead of the pipe shrouds?
If your bath has tap holes and uses bath-mounted taps, the included pipe shrouds will conceal the feed pipes. If your bath uses floor-mounted freestanding taps, you will need Freestanding Bath Standpipes instead — these are sold separately.
