Description
The cold water companion to the red handle hot water valve — same proven full-bore butterfly design, same WRAS approval, same quarter-turn simplicity. The KeyPlumb 15mm Cold Water Butterfly Ball Valve features a blue handle for instant cold water identification, eliminating any risk of confusion during installation or maintenance. Nickel-plated brass construction, PN25 pressure rating, and BS EN331 compliance make this a valve you can specify with confidence. Available in packs of 1, 2, or 5.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the blue and red handle versions?
The blue handle version (this product) is for cold water lines; the red handle version is for hot water lines. Both are identical in specification — the colour coding is a standard plumbing convention to prevent confusion during installation and maintenance.
Can I order if the item shows as out of stock?
Yes — we can fulfil this product even when stock shows as zero. Place your order as normal and we’ll confirm lead time with you.
Is this valve suitable for mains pressure systems?
Yes — the valve is rated to PN25 (25 bar), well above typical UK mains pressure of 3–5 bar. It is WRAS approved for use on mains potable water supplies.
Does this work with plastic pipe as well as copper?
This valve uses a standard 15mm compression fitting, compatible with 15mm copper pipe. For plastic pipe, use the appropriate insert/liner within the compression fitting to prevent the olive from crushing the pipe wall.
Can this valve be used on a hot water supply?
Technically yes — the temperature rating of −10°C to +85°C covers most domestic hot water temperatures. However, for hot water lines we recommend the red handle version to maintain correct colour coding and avoid confusion.
Why buy a pack of 5?
The pack of 5 offers a better per-unit price and is ideal for trade use, full bathroom or kitchen fits, or keeping spares on hand. The saving per valve increases significantly at the 5-pack quantity.
