How does this differ from the Base Jet Hand Dryer?
The Future GLX is a warm air dryer — hands are held beneath the unit and warm air is blown downward. The Base Jet Hand Dryer is a blade/slot dryer — hands are inserted into a slot and high-speed air strips water off both sides simultaneously. The Jet dryer is faster (10 seconds vs longer for warm air) but the Future GLX is more affordable and suits environments where a traditional warm-air format is preferred.
What does IPX1 mean?
IPX1 means the unit is protected against vertically falling water drops (drip-proof). It is suitable for bathroom installation away from direct water spray. Note: this rating is lower than IPX4 — the unit should not be positioned where it may be subject to water splashing from the sides.
What is the thermal protection system?
The Future GLX has dual thermal protection: an auto-resetting thermostat on the motor (cuts off at 105°C) and on the heater element (cuts off at 85°C), plus a thermal fuse on the heater that permanently cuts the unit off at 142°C as a final safety measure. This multi-layer protection prevents overheating in continuous commercial use.
