In floor sensor mode, the thermostat uses the included 3m probe to monitor the floor surface temperature directly — recommended for most installations as it protects the floor covering from overheating. In air sensor mode, the thermostat uses its internal sensor to monitor the ambient room temperature. In dual sensor mode, both sensors are active — the floor sensor sets a maximum floor temperature limit while the air sensor controls the target room temperature. Dual mode is useful where precise room temperature control is needed alongside floor protection.
