Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum water pressure required?
The Abode Sentiment basin mixer operates from a minimum of 0.15 bar, making it suitable for gravity-fed systems, low-pressure supplies, and period properties where mains pressure is not available. It is also fully compatible with combination boilers and mains pressure systems.
What is the difference between compression valves and ceramic disc valves?
Compression valves use a rubber washer that compresses against a seat to stop the flow of water — the traditional mechanism found in period taps. They are particularly well-suited to low-pressure systems and are straightforward to service. Ceramic disc valves use two ceramic discs and are more common in modern quarter-turn taps. The Sentiment uses compression valves to complement its traditional design and low-pressure compatibility.
What finishes are available?
Chrome and Brushed Brass. Select your preferred finish from the dropdown above. For a coordinated bathroom, choose the same finish for your bath filler and other Sentiment brassware.
Is this tap suitable for a combi boiler?
Yes — the Sentiment basin mixer is compatible with combination boilers, gravity-fed systems, and mains pressure supplies. The 0.15 bar minimum pressure requirement is easily met by all standard UK water systems.
How many tap holes does my basin need?
This tap requires a single tap hole in the basin. If your basin has two tap holes, you will need the Sentiment Basin Pillar Taps instead.
How do I extend the guarantee to 15 years?
Register your product with Abode after purchase. Details are included in the guarantee documentation supplied with the tap. The standard guarantee is 2 years; registration extends this to 15 years.
Can I order if the item shows as out of stock?
Yes — we can fulfil this product even when stock shows as zero. Place your order as normal and we'll confirm lead time with you, or call us on 01603 381095.
