Things to Check Before Buying
- Cistern compatibility — flush plates are not universal. Always check the plate is compatible with your specific cistern model (e.g. Geberit Sigma, VitrA V-Fix, Roper Rhodes frame).
- Mechanical vs pneumatic — standard push-button plates are mechanical; sensor and contactless plates require a pneumatic cistern. Check your frame specification before purchasing.
- Fixing centres & frame opening — confirm the plate dimensions suit your frame opening size.
- Square vs round — choose a profile that complements your bathroom design.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are flush plates universal?
No — flush plates are not universal. They are designed to work with specific cistern frames or frame families. Always check compatibility with your cistern model before purchasing. If you're unsure, call us on 01603 381095 and we'll help you find the right plate.
What is the difference between a mechanical and pneumatic flush plate?
A mechanical flush plate connects directly to the cistern via push rods and physically activates the flush valve when pressed. A pneumatic flush plate uses air pressure through a tube to trigger the flush, allowing the plate to be positioned further from the cistern — and enabling sensor and contactless options. Check your frame's specification to confirm which type it requires.
Can I upgrade to a contactless flush plate later?
Yes — if your cistern frame is pneumatic, you can retrofit a contactless or sensor flush plate at any time without replacing the frame. Roper Rhodes offer remote sensor kits specifically designed for this purpose.
Can I order if the item shows as out of stock?
Yes — our flush plates can be ordered even when showing as out of stock, and we'll fulfil your order as soon as stock is available. If you need a specific delivery timeframe, please contact us at customerservice@bubblegumbathrooms.co.uk before ordering.
